Mission Statement

RHSTEP mission to empower the people especially poor, vulnerable and marginalized through different health and social interventions to uphold their rights.

Vision Statement

RHSTEP envisions a healthy wealthy, self, reliant Bangladesh where every citizen is respectful to human rights and practicing those rights irrespective of their age, sex race or socio-economic and cultural strata.

Objectives

Promoting equitable access to healthcare and SRH services, Ensuring human rights for all, regardless of age, sex, race, or socio-economic background, Building a healthy, self-reliant and respectful society in Bangladesh.

Major Activities

1. Awareness sessions on SRHR in schools 2. Awareness sessions on SRHR in communities for adolescents and young people 3. Orientation sessions on SRHR with gatekeepers 4. Awards for book reading 5. Basic and advanced computer learning 6. Debates on selected issues 7. Cultural activities 8. Knowledge-practice games, Quiz 9. Adolescent fairs 10. Dramas on SRHR issues 11. Household visits 12. Participation in different national and international rights related days observation 13. Meeting with Gatekeepers i.e. Teachers, Parents, Social leaders, government officials etc. 14. Whole-School Approach – Functioning of the Health Club, Parents’ Meetings, Menstrual Hygiene (MH) Day Celebrations, Self-Defense Workshops, Sexual Harassment Redressal Committees in Schools, Visits to Nearby Health Facilities, Health Fairs, and Teachers’ Capacity-Building Training. 15. Adolescent Friendly Health Service Visit and Mapping 16. Issue based discussion with local teachers, parents and community gatekeepers 17. Issue-based training, seminar/workshop at district, division and national level 18. Observe different national and international days 19. Issue-based research on cervical cancer; menstrual regulation and post-abortion care; gender-based violence; SRHR education; menstrual hygiene management (MHM); and adolescents. 20.
