Lighting the Poor and Disadvantaged Families Living in Char Areas project

Project Objectives

• 300-disadvantaged and poor women living without electricity got Solar Home System (SHS) for lightening their houses, • The target families felt comfortable and ease while doing chores during evening getting extended time with brighter light,

Expected Outcomes

 An opportunity of 100-lumen brighter lighting in the evening through installation of 30 Watt Solar Home System with 3 LED lamps,  The productive hour will be extended for about 2-3 hours in the evening with brighter light.  300-families will be able to use the extended lighting hours comfortably and some of them will be able to earn an extra income ranging 2500 to 3000 BDT monthly,  The target families will save an expenditure of on average BDT 525 per month,  Solar Light (SHS) will give an opportunity of extended brighter time of 2-3 hours daily in the evening for study, preparing homework and will get some scope of playing at daylight,  Solar home systems will play an important role in combating climate change
