Project Objectives

The main objectives of BRAC's Integrated Development Programme (IDP) are to reduce multidimensional poverty by providing access to basic services like education, health, water, sanitation, and financial inclusion, and by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities in hard-to-reach and climate-vulnerable areas. The program also focuses on empowering communities through social mobilization and women-led platforms, and includes interventions for vulnerable groups, ensuring long-term resilience.

Expected Outcomes

The expected outcomes of BRAC's Integrated Development Programme (IDP) include reduced multidimensional poverty, enhanced access to sustainable livelihoods, and improved socioeconomic conditions for marginalized communities, particularly in hard-to-reach areas like the haors. This holistic approach integrates services like education, health, microfinance, and community empowerment through platforms like Village Development Organizations (VDOs), with a specific focus on the Ultra-Poor Graduation (UPG) model to foster long-term resilience.5
